Our Quantum Circle community was established in 2024 with a mission to unite all stakeholders in quantum computing, communication, and sensing across Belgium. Our community is dedicated to championing the transformative power of quantum technologies, fostering collaboration on groundbreaking use cases, nurturing expertise, and accelerating market adoption. We aim to lay the groundwork for a forward-thinking investment environment in Belgium, poised to make a lasting impact on the technological landscape.

Now that our goals are clear, how do we plan to achieve them?

Communication

Through engaging webinars and on-site gatherings, we aim to inform and empower individuals about the vast possibilities of quantum technology.

Collaboration

By fostering co-creation among researchers, students, technology providers, and future end-users from both public and private sectors, we strive to drive innovation.

Connection

By linking with international and cross-border quantum innovation hubs, we aim to bring down their valuable experiences and insights into our Belgian ecosystem.

Together, these efforts will help us build a strong, interconnected quantum community in Belgium. The Quantum Circle community is organized into 5 specialized workgroups, each with a unique focus:

Business workgroup

Engage with the market to drive enterprise adoption and co-create tangible business services.

Technology workgroup

Identify and harness quantum technologies to translate them into practical applications.

Research workgroup

Pinpoint the most relevant research papers to support specific applications or services.

Society workgroup

Prepare Belgium for the societal changes and impacts that quantum technologies will bring.

Ecosystems workgroup

Provide guidance to Belgian governments and collaborate with international ecosystems.

These workgroups collectively drive our mission forward, ensuring a comprehensive approach to advancing quantum technologies in Belgium.

A call for co-creation
towards quantum-safe
data and networks

Our Technology workgroup is looking for organizations that want to test state-of-the-art technology to secure data and communication networks against future quantum threats. Concretely, the Belgian Quantum Communication Infrastructure consortium BeQCI is looking for business use cases to deploy its first Belgian Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) testbed.
